SUSTech hosts 2022 IEEE 18th Asia Pacific Conference on Circuits and Systems

Nov 13, 2022

From November 11 to 13, the 2022 IEEE 18th Asia Pacific Conference on Circuits and Systems (IEEE APCCAS 2022) was held in Shenzhen.

The event was hosted by the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech), and co-organized by IEEE CASS Shenzhen, Shenzhen University, Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School (Tsinghua SIGS), and Peking University Shenzhen Graduate School (PKU Shenzhen).

Representatives from domestic and international universities and enterprises, including York University, Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Tsinghua University, ShanghaiTech University, and HiSilicon, participated in the event.

At the opening ceremony, Yong LIAN, Professor of York University and Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering, presented a report where he discussed the event-driven system architecture for ultra-low-power Artificial intelligence of things (AIoT) sensors and demonstrated how to realize its low-power characteristics.

Shaojun WEI, Professor of Tsinghua University and Academician of the International Eurasian Academy of Sciences (IEAS), also presented a report at the conference where he introduced how dynamically reconfigurable technology brings the ability to bear the diversity and evolution of AI algorithms. He pointed out that software-defined AI chips are expected to provide a new route for China’s chip technology to get rid of imitation.

During the three-day conference, the participating experts and scholars exchanged and discussed innovative technologies and practical applications in the field of building an all-round and closely connected AIoT.

At the same time, the conference held the Asia Pacific Conference on Postgraduate Research in Microelectronics & Electronics (PrimeAsia 2022) and carried out student design competitions and reports.

More than 170 academic exchanges were conducted in 38 sessions on related topics such as analog and mixed-signal circuits and systems, digital circuits and systems, communication circuits and systems, sensor circuits and systems, biomedical circuits and systems, and high-power and energy circuits and systems.

On the evening of November 12, the conference announced the IEEE APCCAS 2022 Best Paper Award, IEEE PrimeAsia 2022 Gold, Silver, and Bronze Awards, IEEE PrimeAsia Student Design Competition Gold, Silver, and Bronze Awards, and the Student Travel Grant to encourage more scholars to participate.

The IEEE APCCAS is the regional flagship conference of the IEEE Circuits and Systems Society in Asia. The theme of APCCAS 2022 is “Building a Fully-connected AIoT World”, where experts and scholars can gather to exchange and discuss relevant research experience, innovative results, and development trends in the field of circuits and systems.

The conference will further enhance the academic level of China’s AIoT field, promote the development of the industry, and enhance China’s influence in the area of international circuits and systems.
